Senior Lighthouse Maintenance Engineer

Trinity House works for the benefit and safety of all mariners as a General Lighthouse Authority and maritime charity. Our people are central to our reputation as a leading maritime organisation, as is our commitment as an employer to developing the skills, capabilities and potential of our workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to the field technician team during maintenance and project works. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance and repair of our aids to navigation, lighthouses, and other installations.
The working environments can vary from land based installations to those that are off shore, many requiring access over rough ground. Given the location of the stations, you will be spending significant time away from home, working and living in close proximity of your work colleagues. This, coupled with the physical nature of the duties involved, calls for appropriate levels of health and fitness. Modes of transport to access the installations can be a combination of road transport, boat and helicopter.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Skills and experience
-An experienced technical maintenance/installation practitioner able to work unsupervised, including in selecting and managing building contractors.
-An appropriate level of practical training as provided by a craft apprentice.
-An understanding of management information systems
-A working knowledge of HSE requirements and Electricity at Work regulations holding certification of the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
Qualifications
-A level 4 qualification in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience
-Full driving licence
